Purchasing Art by

So you are interested in having a custom portrait painted of your animal companion! That's exciting! I absolutely love creating meaningful portraits that express your animal's essence!
There are a few things to know about reference photos:
-
I work from your photos, so it's really important to provide clear, detailed images.
-
Keep in mind as you browse your images, that the angle that the photo was taken affects the outcome. A photo taken from above will look different that one taken at chest level.
-
Provide me with a few different favorite photos and we will decide together which one might work well.
-
Do not send professional photographs as a reference unless the photographer has agreed and provided you with a signed release.
How long does it take?
I normally complete a painting within a few weeks, however, much depends on the size and medium chosen, as well as the complexity of the composition.
If you have a deadline, it is best to let me know up front, and if possible I will accommodate you.
What is the cost?
The cost depends a few things.
-
The choice of medium (watercolor, oil, colored pencil, pen & ink or graphite)
-
Size
-
Complexity of the composition
-
I require a minimum deposit of $100 and a progress payment equal to 1/3rd of the quoted amount before completion. The balance is due before the portrait is shipped.
-
I provide progress photos of the portrait as I am working on it to make sure I have it right and you are happy.
-
I cover the shipping up to $25, and always insure for the replacement amount. In the case of a more expensive shipping cost, I still cover the first $25.
